My son just finished kindergarten at Greenbrook. We LOVE Greenbrook! They have a brand new playground, High tech. equipment for the classrooms, a caring PTO, principal, and teachers.

I just graduated from Greenbrook and it was perfect from Kindergarten until my fifth grade year! I'll admit, they're a little strict, but their extra-curricular activities are perfect! They manage to hire some of the best teachers in the district, and they have taught me well. I'm still proud to say that I went to that school.

I think Greenbook is a really good school academically, but they are too strict. They do not allow the kids to be kids. I am a true believer that the kids need to learn independence at an early age but they take it too far. My kids will not attend Greenbrook this year and I am pretty tickle about it.

I have had at least one child at Greenbrook for the last three years and I have been very pleased with this school. The new principal came across this year as a little strict in some areas, but I greatly appreciate her concerns for our children and would recommend this school to anyone moving to our area.

I have a 2nd grader and a 1st grader at GES and can't praise the teachers and school enough!!! They can talk at lunch after the first 10 minutes- they are trying to get the kids to eat!! I love everything. I am involved and am frequently at the school. I am sad about how little the parents choose to be involved and that's certainly not the school's fault. I feel so blessed to be in GES school zone.

Greenbrook is pretty good. The have an excellent security system, POP (Parents on patrol) and vehicle pickup program. My grandson attended kindergarten and the initial meeting his assigned teacher did not interact at all with the students. This teacher went on an early medical leave and the replacement teacher and the asst. teacher was fantastic. Kindergarten is the stepping stone of the years to come for a childs involvement in school. I agree schools should have high expectations of their students but they should not lower a childs self esteem. I was a teacher for over 20 years.

My son has attended Greenbrook for three years. It is a great school! Any issues I had were addressed and taken care of immediately. I'd like to respond to a few of the reviews I've read. I am also a teacher in the district. Greenbrook has a more relaxed environment than other schools I have been at in the district. They do have high expectations of the children but they do not stifle their individuality. If there is any complaints about how much work the children have, Please, see your congressman. The teachers, principals, or county do not make the curriculum. This comes from the State Department not the schools. As for any other complaints about teachers or any of the schools in Desoto County, I ask you to go and walk in the teacher's shoes for a week. I bet your opinion changes.

I love Greenbrook. I could not belive the level of parent involvement. We are so very pleased in our sons first year. We love the teachers and I love the coomunication that is between the teacher and the parent. My child loves it too! I would highly recommend Greenbrook to anyone.

I have three children at Greenbrook. My oldest, a fifth grader has attended since Kindergarten. Greenbrook has remained excellent with caring teachers and conscientous administration. The school has doubled in size in the past two years and changes will soon relieve the overcrowding. Despite this overcrowding, the teachers and principal have managed to keep order and still teach all that they need too. They also manage to put on excellent music programs and a yearly Science Fair with over 300 participants. My three girls (1st, 3rd, and 5th) have been very happy at Greenbrook and have loved nearly all their teachers. Greenbrook is a wonderful school.

My grandchild attended Greenbrook kindergarten last school year. It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. The attitude was that if a child wasn't a perfect little adult then there is no place for that child at their school. No talking at lunch is only the beginning of the things that these children aren't allowed to do. Try watching their so called recesses and see what else they aren't allowed to do. Why is there so much homework and extra work sent home with these children? Do these teachers teach? From our experience the answer would be the teachers aren't doing their jobs. One teacher suggested that my grandson would be better off in a Title 1 school due to the lack of programs available at Greenbrook. He is now at another school in Southaven and doing exceptionally well.

My child has been going to Greenbrook for 2 years. My child is in 1st grade, and has had a rough year.He is so scared when he goes to lunch, because they are not aloud to talk at all. Which, i think is rediculous. It just seems like they can't enjoy school. I feel if the teachers and staff should let the kid have a little enjoyment, they are there 8 hours, just like a fulltime job, do we need our break for lunch, yes i think so. As,far as the teachers go, in our experience, i feel we teach more they do, go over all the homework at night, I feel they are just overloading these kid.

My child has been going to Greenbrook since Kindergarten. He struggled in Kindergarten - I had tubes put in his ears halfway thru the school year and held him back, he did alot better the 2nd time around...1st grade was ok..he had a great teacher that was willing to work with him...2nd is not going not so great. The school offers no after school tutoring, the tutoring period they do offer is during classes that would require him missing 2 to 3 classes with it being his responsibility to make up the work. I feel like I am getting no help in finding resources to help him and tutoring is way to expensive here.

My son attends kindergarten at this school and is adjusting well. He loves his teacher and is progressing well with his learning. They have a great discipline program that I feel is fair. I had some complaints in the beginning of the school year for the principal; and she was not very willing to offer her help with those particular issues. There could be improvements on her part, but overall I give the school a big thumbs up. Great job to the teachers!

My daughter attends GES and she loves it. I am pleased with the teachers, curriculum and administration. I think schools are under so much pressure today to pass state testing to 'measure up' that sometimes kids are treated too much like 'little adults' and not what they are, CHILDREN. No talking during lunch? Who ever heard of such? Overall, Greenbrook is a happy, safe learning environment, but lest loosen up a bit. Kids need more than the 25 minutes of recess allowed. Good job.
