“Kirby Middle is not a good school for any parent to send their child to. My son has attended there and has had numerous problems encountered. He has not learned anything for this whole school year due to lack of leadership.”

“I have also attended this school. I have been on Kirby Meddle from 6th grade to 8th grade. This isn t a very good school and it lacks leadership. The teachers don t really care about the students and from my experience will sometimes let them do as they wish rather than help. They only contact parents because of complaints about you re child. They never contact the parent with something positive to say. They have little activities and there are countless fights and problems at the school. If you argue with a teacher on anything you are talking back and being this respectful. I have seen friends be suspended for things they have not done. The parents don t even come to the school any more because is pointless. To me this is a very bad school.And I am happy that I m finally leaving this year. Also I believe the last review was by a teacher not by a student. Because those are the things they always want us to say.”

“Everything that the parents are saying, are uneducated. I have attended this school since the 6th grade up in to the grade i'm in currently, the 8th grade. I have a teacher who has brought it to my attention, that if your child is failing or lacking a middle school education, most likely it is the total lack of parental involvement. If all the parents sits their child down everyday, and attempt to help their children, KMS would be a terrific school. Yes, I guess you can say we don't have many academic programs, the school attempts to set up a tutoring program, but parents don't like to pick up their children. Extracurricular activities are big at this school also, but again, the lack of parental guidance, does nothing to help heighten the child's GPA, so that he/she can participate in these extracurricular activities, trust me I attend the school.”

“Parents, please be aware when you send your child to this school. It was an unpleasant experience for my family during the entire school year. We would find ourselves in the office so many times because of students harassing her. It only took just for one teacher or faculty member to accuse my child of doing something wrong, and mostly all of them stuck together instead of reviewing the facts. There is one particular teacher who was disrespectful to me as an adult and a parent. When I wanted to volunteer in the classroom, I was rejected by her and others. My husband and I have always taking pride in being involved in our children's education. I cannot count the times that I would've to go to the office because something happen again in that school. I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT MY CHILD ISN'T IN THAT SCHOOL ANYMORE!”

“Kirby Middle has teachers that belittle the children. The principal doesn't take these complaints seriously. I would like to see the Board of Education investigate the classroom activity.”

“Kirby Middle isn't a good school because of the main principal and some of the teachers not the students. I wish the school board would evaluate what really goes in the classrooms. Also I would like to see the principal get more involved in safety, disciplinary actions, classroom monitoring, and listen to the students when they have a complaint.”

“Kirby middle school is bad. I do not want my kids to go to kirby, but we live in the school area. The principal is so mean. I belive he does not like the blacks and the mexicans that go to kirby. I am sorry to say this but that is what I feel.”
